Many thanks for forwarding me the portfolio of your friend, the illustrator. What a talent! I do agree that her animal sketches are exceptional, if he hasn’t already thought of it, he should definitely contact a publisher specialising in visual arts, this could be turned into a lovely book.
I am wondering though, what you have in mind for your cover. Given the genre and the readership you are working with, I do wonder if the retro style he uses is appropriate? If we look at the mapping we did of similar titles earlier on, I fail to see any similarities in style or content.
It is crucial that your potential readers, buyers, recognise the book as being part of your genre in order to identify with.
Do you have anyone else in mind or should I reach out to my own network to find a suitable alternative?
